Recently, a good friend of mine turned me onto the trailer for an upcoming documentary called “Babies.” I immediately became a fan and therefore I now receive a weekly tidbit on baby tidbit from around the world. The following is what I learned today:
Babies Around The World Weekly Fact: In Navajo culture, newborns are believed to be of two worlds when they are born. A child’s first giggle signals that the baby is ready to join his/her earth family. The baby then takes on personality characteristics of whoever is present for this first giggle.
Akira hasn’t giggled yet but started showing flashes of delight since last week. It was when “20th Century Boy” by T. Rex came on the stereo. His face just lit up and gave me a big smile. However, I hope this doesn’t mean that he is going to take on personality characteristics of Marc Bolan.
