leaves in concrete

Posted on August 9, 2013

Thursday, the contractor had told me that they were pouring the concrete walk around the new restroom at Arroyo Road the next morning, and that night, I kept seeing in my mind’s eye, footprints, animal tracks and leaves embedded in concrete.  I knew then, it was meant to be. In the morning, I asked the contractor if he would mind if we added some leaves to his finish, like, you know, from the sycamores and walnuts all around us, into the surface … like exposed aggregate. Like a little artsy touch, to have some fun.  Lucky for me, the contractor was more than happy to oblige, and in fact, I think he really got into leafing up the concrete finish!
